A Huge Step in the Right Direction

We might not have a Target in Canada (yet) but this week, the company’s weekly flyer in the USA featured something that most may not have noticed, but its addition is groundbreaking for an industry that is caught up on being typical. Noah, a young model, has Down syndrome.  He was chosen, just like the other 4 children in the ad, to represent the brand and was featured for millions to see. It is such a great thing to see that Target is not discriminating and has chosen to include a true representation of those who really enjoy the brand. If this is any indication of what 2012 holds for the advertising world, I can’t wait to see what other boundaries will soon be broken. For more information about Noah, check out his father’s blog Noahsdad.com to learn about children with Down syndrome and Noah’s journeys in life. It is truly remarkable the drive and compassion such a young little guy can have.
